Nurse Call Center
For your convenience, we
have one telephone number to reach our appointment line staff or call center nurse. That number is
- Option 1 for appointments
- Option 2 to speak with a nurse
Our pediatric nurses have special training to enable them to help you with
routine questions. They allow our physicians and nurses to devote their full attention to
scheduled and sick patients. The call center nurse will consult with your
child's physician as necessary.
Please have the following information ready when you call our office:
- Your child's main symptoms
- Any chronic disease or health problem your child has
- Your child's temperature if he/she is sick
- Your child's approximate weight
- The names of any medications your child is taking
- Your pharmacy's phone number
- Your questions (please write them down before calling)
After Hours Nurse Line
After Hours Nurse Line: (901) 937-6140 (after
The After Hours Nurse Line is for questions regarding your child's health that
cannot wait until the next clinic opens. The nurses do not have access to your
child's records. If you call the After Hours Nurse during any of our open
clinic hours, the nurse will refer you back to the Pediatrics East Clinic that
is open. They are not authorized to give
advice during clinic hours.
When calling the After Hours Nurse Line, please remove the "call blocking" from your
telephone. Our nurses cannot return your call if you have it on.
If you need a prescription refilled, please call 757-3535 Option 2 before 4:30 pm and leave the prescription number, the pharmacy telephone number, the medicine, dosage and administration schedule. We are not able to phone in prescription refills after regular office hours. In the interest of your child's health, we may sometimes ask that they be seen in the office before refilling a prescription. Antibiotics are generally not called in.
